Meet the “Hellkat” – The World’s First Honda K24-Swapped Hellcat

At HPT Turbochargers, we’re always excited to see our products being used in creative, game-changing builds—and this one takes the cake. We’re proud to partner with Scrap Life Garage’s Lee C, the man behind one of the most entertaining and wildly inventive YouTube channels in the car scene. With over hundreds of thousands of subscribers and a reputation for pushing limits, Lee’s projects are equal parts insane science experiment and serious motorsport engineering.

And his latest creation? The Hellkat.

That’s right—the world’s first Honda K24-swapped Hellcat Charger.

The Build: From Redeye to Hellkat

When Lee came across a Dodge Charger Redeye that was missing its engine, most people would have searched for a replacement Hellcat motor. Not Lee. Instead, he saw an opportunity to flip the script—stuffing in a lightweight Honda K24 with a monster turbo strapped on.

As he put it:

“One heavy car, one tiny engine, and one giant turbo. Let’s see if we can get enough power out of this little K24 to propel a 4,500 lb brick down the track.”

And to do that, he’s trusting our HPT F3 6870 Turbocharger.

Why the K24? Why the F3 6870?

The numbers tell the story:

  • K24 Motor Weight (with turbo installed): ~340 lbs

  • Hellcat Motor Weight: ~680 lbs

  • Weight Savings: ~340 lbs off the nose

That’s a massive difference in balance and performance potential. And while the smaller motor might seem like a downgrade, the turbo makes up the gap in a big way.

The HPT F3 6870 with V-band housing not only delivers the airflow needed to chase 1,000+ horsepower, but it also weighs just 21 lbs. That means even more weight savings without compromising power.

In other words—lightweight engine, lightweight turbo, heavyweight power.

What’s Next?

The car is just getting started. In the next episode, the team will be finishing out the systems to bring the Hellkat to life:

  • ECU tuning

  • Fuel system upgrades

  • Cooling setup

  • Transmission control

And of course, that first startup—we can’t wait to hear it roar.

Stay tuned, because this is one project that’s going to rewrite what people think is possible with a K24 swap.
