Back in July of 2025, we made a move that hit close to home—literally. HP Race Brands signed a four-year lease for the scoreboard signs at US 41 Dragstrip, located in Morocco IN, just about 40 minutes from our office.
The signs at the top end had been there for nearly a decade, and the previous tenant had long since walked away from the deal. We were proud to step in, revive the finish line, and bring new energy to a place that means a lot to the local racing community. Supporting our local track just made sense.
The Perfect Partnership
While we were negotiating our lease with US 41, we started talking with the DadRod Garage crew—a father-and-son duo, Mark and Brandon Boer. The Boers are local racers, from Valparaiso, Indiana, with a passion for turbocharged power, and they also run a growing YouTube channel that captures their projects and race weekends.
They invited us to become the title sponsor for their signature event, Street Car Chaos, held (coincidentally) at US 41 Dragstrip. In another twist of fate, their previous title sponsor happened to be the same company that abandoned the scoreboard lease years ago. It felt like everything had come full circle.
From Turbos to Track Signs
It was an easy decision to partner with Mark and Brandon—not just because they’re great people and fellow turbo enthusiasts, but because they understand the value of community in motorsports. We jumped on board to sponsor their event and help them upgrade their turbo setups with HPT power.
But the connections didn’t stop there. Once our agreement with US 41 was finalized, we needed someone to design and install the new scoreboard signs. As luck would have it, Mark and Brandon’s family business just so happens to be a sign company, Image1 defyboring.com. Naturally, we went straight to them to handle the install.
They knocked it out of the park—installing brand new HPT Turbochargers and HPL Superior Lubricants signs right above the time clocks at the top end of the dragstrip, just in time for Street Car Chaos.
A Weekend to Remember
We were proud to be on-site for the event with our booth and most of the HP Race Brands team. It was an awesome weekend connecting with racers, fans, and local businesses—all while watching some great racing.
And to top it off, two of our HPT Turbochargers customers had a great weekend! Victor Smith, took the win in the Footbrake Heroes class and runner-upped in the Small Tire class, running our F3 7880.
Chet Lambrechts running a pair of F3 7675's in his twin turbocharged S-10, had a great runner-up finish in the Street Hustler class.
Looking Ahead
It’s been an exciting few months building our relationships with the DadRod Garage team and US 41 Dragstrip. We’re proud to invest in our local racing scene and are already planning to sponsor more events next summer.
