Horsepower Wars Season 4 Kicks Off with LS vs Coyote 3
If you’re a fan of high-horsepower battles, mark your calendars—LS vs Coyote 3 is almost here! This iconic matchup is set to launch Season 4 of Horsepower Wars, presented by Summit Racing, and HPT Turbochargers is proud to be part of the action. As die-hard fans of the show, we’re beyond excited to see our turbochargers powering both sides of this legendary rivalry.
“After Horsepower Wars season 1 aired, Tristan and I were still working at Precision Turbo, and we were thrilled to help Lyle Barnett get a turbo for Beer Money. I even designed the large hood decal myself—it was such a fun time! And now, to see HPT Turbochargers on the show, it’s a dream come true. It’s a full-circle moment for us.” — Julie Kimpel, HPT Turbochargers
This season, the rules are simple: a Gen 3 Coyote vs. a Gen V LT, each limited in cubic inches but armed with a single 76mm turbo from HPT Turbochargers. No budget restrictions, just pure horsepower potential. Late Model Engines took on the LT build, pushing factory components to their limits, while Fast Forward Race Engines applied their proven formula to the Coyote platform. Both are powerhouse builders with reputations for delivering championship-winning performance.
In previous years, LS vs Coyote featured both naturally aspirated and boosted builds with strict budgets—and the LS claimed victory in both dyno shootouts. But this time, it’s an all-out horsepower war. The dyno is just the beginning; when the dust settles there, the rivalry moves to the track in the C10 Shootout.
Filming for the LS vs Coyote builds is complete, and the engines are currently on the dyno for the final episodes. This series is set to debut in mid-August, with fresh content dropping every Thursday on EngineLabs and across social media. The C10 builds have just kicked off, and that series is scheduled to debut in late September on Dragzine.
