This past weekend, Rockingham Dragway in North Carolina was the place to be for the small tire racing scene, and Street Car Braggin Rights proved exactly why it holds that title. From packed stands to elite-level racing action, the energy was unmatched—and HP Race Brands was proud to be part of it all.
We showed up strong with HPT Turbochargers on full display, alongside Tristan Kimpel, repping the brand in the Tru Street Solutions camp. Huge thanks to Tru Street Solutions for partnering with us to sponsor the event. Their growth in the F-150 scene has been nothing short of impressive, and their turbo kits—featuring HPT turbos—are delivering real results backed by real street data. Their fleet of F-150s showed out and showed up, proving they’re more than just hype. We’re proud to have Tristan welcomed into their camp and grateful for their hospitality all weekend.
But what truly set the weekend apart was the on-track performance of our HPT and AFIS Injected racers.
Devin Vanderhoof & Josh Davis: #1 Qualifier in the SCBR Shootout
The Fox Body convertible Mustang from Devin Vanderhoof, powered by twin F5 HPT Turbochargers and AFIS Injectors, and piloted by Josh Davis, came out swinging. They qualified #1 overall in the elite SCBR Shootout with a 6.23 @ 227 MPH—and they did it at 3 PM on Friday in brutal conditions:
☀️ 93°F | 🏔️ 3,300 ft DA | 💧128 water grains.
That run set the tone for the class and made them the team to beat. Despite a heartbreaking loss in the semifinals due to tire spin, they proved that when it comes to performance, they’re at the top of their game.
Leticia Hughes: Resilience and a Personal Best
Leticia Hughes Racing also competed in the Elite class, and her weekend was a story of grit, heart, and serious progress. Coming into the event with just one 1/4-mile pass on her new setup, she faced every obstacle in the book—boost control gremlins, body panel mishaps, and even a fire.
But that didn’t stop her. Instead, she cranked out a 5.03 PB, stacked multiple 7.8x passes, and manually shifted every single run like a pro. Most importantly, she qualified with some of the best in the game. Leticia came to prove she belonged—and she delivered. We’re honored to have her repping HPT Turbo with such passion and drive.
Tanner Walker Takes the Win in an All-HPT Turbo Final
Talk about a showdown! The N/T Overdrive Shootout final at SCBR turned into a turbocharged showcase—with both finalists running twin HPT Turbochargers. On one side, Tanner Walker in The Hulk, battling through a brand-new combo, constant adjustments, and two full days of gritty racing. On the other side, his longtime friend and rival Zac Patterson, also boosted by twin HPT turbos.
The two went head-to-head in what turned out to be the closest race of the entire event. Tanner edged out the win by just a bumper in a finish that will be talked about all season long.
Zac had nothing but praise for the performance of the HPT Turbochargers and the support he received from HP Race Brands — especially from Tristan Kimpel, who he said “went above and beyond” to make sure his turbo spec was perfect. Zac was thrilled with how the car ran all weekend and called Tanner a “very deserving winner.”
An all-HPT final. Two fierce competitors. One unforgettable race. This is why we do what we do.
Alan Whitaker: Heavyweight Champ & Top Qualifier
Alan Whitaker rolled into SCBR and absolutely dominated the Heavyweight class. His 4,230 lb street machine, powered by a Steve Morris Engines SMX, equipped with AFIS Injectors, and wired/tuned by Devin Vanderhoof of HCR Innovations, was untouchable.
He not only qualified #1, but also drove away with the win, putting an exclamation mark on his SCBR weekend. Alan’s consistency and power made "Greenie" the clear heavyweight king of Rockingham.
Jason Teixeira: Top 5 Qualifier in the Wild Group
Last but not least, Jason Teixeira and his stunning twin HPT Turbocharged blue Mustang made waves in the Wild class. He secured a strong #4 qualifying spot and had the car dialed in all weekend. A couple of driver missteps may have cut the race short for him, but the car’s performance shows he's primed for a stellar season ahead.
Joe Glockner: A True HPT OG Still Getting It Done
We’ve got to give a special shoutout to Joe Glockner, one of the very first racers to make the switch to HPT Turbochargers. Joe’s been rocking our products from the beginning, and it’s awesome to see him continuing to perform at the highest level.
At SCBR 2025, Joe’s Coyote-powered Mustang, boosted by a pair of HPT F2 6870 turbos, qualified #6 overall in the Elite group—proving once again that experience, consistency, and top-tier components always rise to the top.
We’re proud to have Joe in the HPT family and even prouder to see him still out there killing it with a setup that delivers round after round. He’s a perfect example of what happens when long-term commitment meets top-shelf performance.
Wrapping It Up
Between the racers, the sponsors, and the amazing racing community, Street Car Braggin Rights 2025 was one for the books. From the F-150 domination of Tru Street Solutions to the record-setting runs and championship wins by HPT and AFIS-powered racers, we couldn’t be more proud.
This weekend reminded us why we do what we do: to support racers who push limits, partners who deliver results, and a racing culture that never stops chasing the next personal best.
Thank you to everyone who made it possible. Let’s keep boosting forward.
