Greg Seher’s 3,000HP Nova Makes Waves at Shakedown — Finals in LDR Second Chance!

We want to give a huge congratulations to Greg Seher and the entire Seher Schultetus Racing team on an incredible weekend at the Shakedown at M-Town at US 131!

Greg just debuted his newly built ‘72 Chevy Nova, and it didn’t take long to make an impact — charging all the way to the final round in the LDR Second Chance bracket. This car is no slouch. Built to LDR specs, it features a 25.2 chassis with stock front suspension and a monster 555 cubic inch Big Block Chevy under the hood. The powerplant is built in-house by Greg and the team using a Dart cast steel block and VED heads and intake.

And the family pride doesn’t stop there — the paint and bodywork were done by Greg’s own father, adding a personal touch to an already impressive build.

Greg's parents stopped by the HP Race Brands shop recently to pick up their special order of a 55 gallon drum of HPL Race Motor Oil and it was a great time hanging out with them!

The Nova put down an insane personal best of 4.14 @ 183 MPH, which earned them a bye into the finals. After battling new car blues all weekend, this run was a turning point — a moment of redemption and relief for the whole team.

Greg was kind enough to leave us a customer testimonial a few months ago, here's what he had to say!

“Best customer service! Erik and the team are incredibly helpful, especially when it comes to picking the correct injectors. We’ve also been running HPL oil for the past five years, and our bearings still look like they just came out of the box — highly recommend!”

This Nova relies on AFIS 400 lb/hr and 600 lb/hr injectors to feed its 3,000 horsepower reliably and accurately — no compromise when it comes to fuel delivery. To keep everything protected, they run HPL 60WT Race Motor Oil, which has consistently delivered industry-leading wear protection even under the toughest small tire racing conditions.

Greg and the team are planning to race the Limited Drag Radial (LDR) circut this year, as well as some other small tire classes, and with this new car already showing strong performance, we know they’re just getting started.

Congratulations again to Greg and Seher Schultetus Racing — we can’t wait to see what’s next!
